We are delighted to have been appointed by the Department for Transport to implement alcohol testing by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) following HM Government’s recent competitive tender for air crew testing under new EASA regulations.

In July 2018, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) announced regulations to better support and safeguard the mental fitness of air crew, including requiring the introduction of alcohol testing for pilots and crew by both airlines and member countries’ regulatory bodies.

As UK Channel Partner for Dräger – who supply police forces worldwide – we were selected by the DfT to provide training, equipment and support for the UK CAA’s alcohol testing programme, to be introduced in April 2020.

Commenting on the success of the tender, Suzannah Robin, Sales & Training Director at AlcoDigital said:

“We are delighted to be working with the CAA and look forward to developing an effective alcohol testing procedure to comply with EASA regulations. This tender was contested by all UK police breathalyser suppliers, but our partnership with Dräger and over 17 years experience in the field of drug and alcohol testing enabled us to win the full support of the CAA for the introduction of their testing programme.

We work with a wide variety of businesses and government bodies to implement cost effective drug and alcohol testing with certified training programmes; our depth of experience and world class product range ensured that we were best placed to offer the best solution to the CAA’s requirements”.
